NPI Assistant Manager

Roles and Responsibilities:
- To lead on NPI process for new products, from initial concept through design, prototyping testing, and full-scale production.
- Provides technical support and troubleshoot to resolve quality and process engineering issues and critical customer escalations.
- Collaborate with R&D and Engineering teams to provide design for manufacturability input and optimize product designs for efficient manufacturing and assembly.
- Define the process and workflow for new projects or products.
- Define the necessary documentation required for new projects or products.
- Design the customize tool and fixtures for special processes based on unique product requirements.
- Define key process parameters and settings to run the product. Plan and execute the design of experiment as needed.
- Performs technical analyses to identify product and process issues arising from the NPI build, and document as part of the post-build report.
- Defines and executes corrective and preventive actions.
- Transfers NPI products to sustaining production team based on a structured handshake process.
- Review testing result and report and provide improvement suggestion to meet product specifications.
- Define new product specifications in the beginning of development stage.
- Co-ordinate and decision making to pursue new product development projects.
- Review master schedule, budget, manpower and other resources to pursue projects.
- Able to work independently and as a team leader for the department.
- Manage subordinates.
- Establish framework and guidelines for NPI related work.
- Actively involve in the planning and execution of tasks and initiatives related to NPI.
- Build relationships and communicate with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Track and monitor NPI performance, with a focus on process improvement, data template enhancement, software migration, and data analysis to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and comprehensiveness.
- Manage NPI awareness initiatives.
Requirements:
Education/Experience:
- Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree, Professional Degree, Engineering (Mechanical), Engineering (Mechatronic/Electromechanical) or equivalent.
- At least 6 years of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
- Candidate must have great interpersonal skills, leadership skills, positive minded, self-driven and eager to strive for success.
- Able to make good judgement call and being responsible to all decision made.
- Experience in managing subordinate.
- Added advantage for people who familiar with NPI / AHMS / Robotics / Cleanroom environment.
- Knowledge of product design, data analysis, reporting standards
- Knowledge of ISO standard, SEMI standard and other quality management systems.
- Hardworking with a “hands-on” approach.
