Job Summary

Launch your career through the Stratus Graduate Engineering Programme (SGEP), a structured 12-month development programme designed for ambitious engineering graduates eager to build a career in automation. Through hands-on project experience, cross-functional rotations, mentorship from experienced engineers, and exposure to automation solutions supporting leading global semiconductor manufacturers, you’ll develop the technical expertise, professional skills, and industry knowledge needed to thrive in a dynamic engineering environment and accelerate your career with Stratus.

What You’ll Do

As an SGEP participant, you will:

• Participate in a structured technical and professional development programme.
• Receive hands-on training from experienced engineers and technical specialists.
• Support engineering design, testing, troubleshooting, commissioning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to real engineering projects across different departments.
• Gain exposure to customer-driven engineering projects and international engineering standards while supporting automation solutions for global industries.
• Develop practical problem-solving and analytical skills through real business challenges.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative automation solutions.
• Prepare engineering documentation, technical reports, and project updates.
• Demonstrate continuous learning, teamwork, professionalism, and leadership potential throughout the programme.

Your 12-Month SGEP Journey

 

• Month 0–1 | Welcome to Stratus

Build Your Foundation; begin your engineering journey with a comprehensive onboarding experience that covers Stratus’ culture, manufacturing operations, cleanroom environment, safety practices, quality standards, and the fundamentals of automation engineering.

• Months 2–3 | Engineering Foundation

Learn. Practice. Build Confidence; develop your technical competencies through structured classroom sessions, practical workshops, and guided on-the-job training. You’ll strengthen your engineering fundamentals while working alongside experienced engineers on actual projects.

• Months 4–8 | Cross-Functional Engineering Rotation

Explore. Experience. Discover; gain broad exposure by rotating across key engineering departments. This rotation helps you understand the complete engineering lifecycle while discovering your strengths and career interests. You’ll also gain insights into how Stratus delivers automation solutions for customers across the global semiconductor industry, with opportunities to collaborate on international projects depending on business needs.

• Months 9–11

Apply Your Knowledge; take ownership of a real engineering improvement project.

Working under the guidance of experienced mentors, you’ll:

• Solve real engineering challenges
• Improve processes
• Collaborate across departments
• Present your project outcomes and recommendations to the management team

This phase prepares you to transition confidently into a professional engineering role.

• Month 12

Ready for Your Next Chapter; celebrate the successful completion of SGEP through:

• Programme assessment
• Performance review
• Career development discussions
• Graduation presentation

High-performing graduates will be considered for permanent engineering positions and continue their engineering journey as part of the Stratus team.

Who We’re Looking For

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, or other related engineering disciplines.

Eligibility

• Fresh graduates.
• CGPA 3.5 and above is preferred.
• Able to work in Penang.
• Good command of English, both written and spoken.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Passionate about engineering, automation, and continuous learning.
• Willing to undergo structured development and training.
