Engineer II: R&D Electronics

Roles and Responsibilities:
Electronics Hardware Design
- Design, develop, and validate hardware systems based on MCUs (STM32, Microchip, NXP) and SoMs (NVIDIA Jetson, Raspberry Pi, etc.).
- Implement and integrate camera systems (MIPI interfaces, sensor selection, and lens configuration).
- Architect and design circuits for RF and wireless communication: LoRa, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GSM, 4G.
- Design and interface with high-speed protocols and buses: MIPI, SPI, QSPI, I²C, UART, CAN, RS-485, RS-232, USB 3.0, SDIO, PWM.
- Work with Ethernet systems, PHY interfaces, SD card interfaces, and advanced connectivity solutions.
- Develop robust power management solutions: buck converters, boost converters, linear regulators, and protection circuits (active and passive).
- Perform power budgeting and thermal dissipation analysis for complex systems.
Compliance, Validation & Simulation
- Lead EMI/EMC design and validation activities per ISO, CE, FCC standards.
- Support product certification processes and hands-on pre-compliance testing.
- Develop and execute DVP&R (Design Verification Plan & Report) including test cases and qualification per design standards.
- Perform WCCA (Worst Case Circuit Analysis) to ensure design robustness and safety.
- Conduct simulation and modeling using LTspice, TI Webench, and MPS simulation tools.
- Perform power dissipation and thermal simulations using Mathcad PTC or equivalent tools.
PCB Design & Development
- Expert-level proficiency in Altium Designer: schematic design, PCB layout, symbol/footprint creation, and library management.
- Conduct thorough PCB layout reviews focusing on signal integrity, power integrity, and manufacturability.
- Provide expertise in component selection considering availability, reliability, cost, and lifecycle.
- Support DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFA (Design for Assembly) best practices.
Hands-On Engineering & Field Support
- Perform hardware bring-up, debugging, and validation of prototypes.
- Proficient in soldering fine-pitch components (0402, 0603, QFN, BGA rework).
- Use lab equipment such as oscilloscopes (DSO/MSO), DMMs, power analyzers, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers.
- Conduct field testing of hardware prototypes in real-world conditions.
- Ensure safe handling of ESD-sensitive equipment and components.
Collaboration & Documentation

- Work closely with cross-functional teams including software, mechanical, and manufacturing engineers.
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive design documentation, including schematics, BOMs, test reports, and user manuals.
- Participate in design reviews, FMEA, and reliability analysis.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and interns.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering.
- 3–6 years of hands-on electronics design experience in R&D, product development, or embedded systems.
- Strong knowledge of MCUs, SoMs, wireless modules, and high-speed communication interfaces.
- Expertise in power electronics, EMI/EMC, and circuit protection techniques.
- Proven track record in Altium Designer (expert level).
- Hands-on experience with simulation tools (LTspice, TI Webench, MPS, Mathcad).
- Practical knowledge of product certification processes (CE, FCC, ISO).
- Strong skills in debugging, testing, and prototype validation.
- Knowledge of safety-critical design standards (ISO 26262, etc.).
- Familiarity with high-speed PCB design techniques (impedance control, differential pair routing).
- Exposure to FPGA-based designs.
- Experience with project management tools (Jira, PLM systems).
