Senior Mechanical Engineer

Job Summary:

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will conduct innovative research and development of our next generation products and improving our current products. This role reports to the head of the Mechanical R&D department.

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with potential customers in capturing the requirement and needs of the new product.
  • Research on the current trend and latest technology of the possible solution.
  • Identify implementable solutions to company product.
  • Draft concept that accommodates the request from the customers and potential future market.
  • Carry out parts selection with verification of engineering calculation.
  • Carry out FEA for critical to ensure the durability of the product
  • Use design software to develop detailed design of the approved concept.
  • Communicate with the supplier on the new parts sourcing.
  • Identify the required test to verify the basic motion of the new product.
  • List out prototype test check criteria.
  • Assess all prototype tests and identify all issues and risks.
  • Solve all the issues and improve the prototype design to achieve near perfect results.
  • Produce assembly procedure for the production team.
  • List out assembly critical dimensions for checking.
  • In-charge of new development product.
  • Ensure designed product shall meet requirement of specification.
  • Lead a team of 2-3 members.
  • Check engineering drawings and BOM prepared by team members.
  • Review testing result and report and provide improvement suggestion to meet product specifications. Identify the requirements of hardware and mechanical components for our current and new products.

 

Requirements:

  • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree, Professional Degree, Engineering (Mechanical) or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of working experience in a related field.
  • Candidate must have great interpersonal skills, leadership skills, positive mindedness, self-driven and eager to strive for success.
  • Able to make good judgement call and being responsible for all decision made.
  • Added advantage for experience in managing subordinates.
  • Added advantage for people who are familiar with AHMS / Robotics / Cleanroom environment.
  • Knowledge of product design, data analysis, reporting standards
  • Knowledge of ISO standard, SEMI standard and other quality management systems.
  • Hardworking with a “hands-on” approach.

 

Desired Characteristics:

  • Project and document management experience in engineering.
  • Communication skills: verbal, written and presentation.
  • Ability to work as a team leader. Schedule planning, task delegation and provide guidance.
  • Ability to understand, communicate and create technical manufacturing documentation.
  • Analytical skills with strong physics/mechanical fundamental knowledge are required.
  • Proficient in CAD (3D and 2D)
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint)
