Senior QA Engineer
Roles and Responsibilities
- In charge of leading the customer quality issues response team. Manages customer returns (RMA)/quality escalations and device resolution plan in terms of business recovery, root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions and lead cross functional problem response team to a successful closure.
- Managing and coordinating activities of functional groups outside of the quality organization to achieve internal and external customer quality requirements.
- Ensuring that proper visual aid or operator guide for inspection are available for Production and Quality Assurance Department.
- Be the content expert in reviewing change control management including change strategy, data collection plan, ECN/PCN content. Plays the governance role in ensuring the change control process is being adhered to.
- Lead SCAR process – Supplier Corrective/Preventive Action process for problem resolution and continuous improvement, including critical analysis of supplier DOE (Design of Experiment), CPK (Process Capability Index), Gauge R&R (Repeatability and Reproducibility) studies.
- Evaluate and provide input to inspection processes via inspection aids and instruction guidelines.
- Knowledge of techniques like six sigma, lean manufacturing, sampling plans and statistics: utilizing these techniques as appropriate per company or industry recognized standards.
- Provides training and guidance to peers and other departments on quality requirements and guidance.
- Takes the initiative to suggest systems and process improvements: increase product safety; increase product consistency and conformance to requirements; improve production efficiency and communication; reduce operating and scrap costs.
- Reads schematics and mechanical drawings and provides input into revisions as needed.
- Participate in Design and Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis (DFMEA) and Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis (PFMEA).
- May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Requirements
Education / Experience:
- Candidate must be minimum a bachelor’s degree in engineering or applied sciences.
- Minimum 5 – 10 years’ related experience in quality assurance, process engineering or similar function.
- Possess strong leadership skills and high motivation towards leadership.
Skills / Training:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to interact well with colleagues and business associates.
- Possess strong leadership skills and high motivation.
- Strong commitment to task assigned and a self-starter.
- Knowledge in statistics, SPC and related quality methodologies is a plus.
Knowledge:
- Knowledge in ISO9K, ISO14K and ISO45K and internal quality audit will be an advantage.
- Prior knowledge in industrial equipment design, assembly and control system is highly desirable
